We say 8:00am but some will be there by 6:00am.  This is our club’s annual sponsored rabbit show.  Great time to see rabbits, talk rabbits,  and judge rabbits.  It is an all day event.  We need set up clean up, kitchen, raffle, writers for the judges, registration, and much more.

April 28, 6:30 pm

Advisor Mosier is planning a rabbit clinic for all the members and parents.

Club T-shirts

We are having new club t-shirts made again this year.  The shirt will be 4-H green with a 4-H clover, a rabbit, and Bunny Hoppers on the front.  The shirts are $8.00 each, and anyone can order a shirt (members, brothers, sisters, mom, dad, grandpa, whomever).  Attached is an order form, and the money needs turned in with the order.  Order forms are due by the April 16th meeting.

Quality Assurance

Starting this year Quality Assurance is not required for Rabbit Projects.  In addition the health papers for meat pen and single fryers that we normally turn in at the fair are not required.  Even though the paperwork is no longer required, we must still practice healthy and drug free practices for our rabbits.

If you are talking any other market animal to the fair, besides rabbits you must attend a quality assurance session.  If you would just like to learn more you are always welcome to learn at a quality assurance class.

Classes are listed in the county 4-H newsletter, and on our yearly calendar.

Pop and Desserts

For the rabbit show each family is asked to bring a 12 pack of pop, and two desserts for the kitchen.  Any dessert is great, but pies go fast.

Lets Clarify Rabbit Animal Project Books

Advisor Mosier and Advisor Wortman have talked to Heather again this week.  Animal Project Books are going to remain the same as in past years.  You need project book 225 if your are taking breeding rabbits, and project book 226 if you are talking market rabbits.

They are designed to be used for multiple years, and we are to use them for multiple years.  If you have a book from last year you can use it again.  If this is the first year you are talking the project, or do not have the books they are $5.00 each, and you can bring your money to the next meeting.

You will need to add an insert of record keeping to each of your books.  We will copy them off and bring them to our upcoming meetings.
